Elżbieta Piórecka was born in Jasło, Poland. She graduated from the Faculty of Artistic Weaving of the Jan Matejko State Secondary School of Visual Arts in Nowy Wiśnicz, Poland held by Ewa and Włodzimierz Dominiak. In 1990s she lived in France where she developed her artistic sensibility by participating in exhibitions and salons. She was awarded 1st Prize at the “Salon de Chambourcy” contest in France in 1998. In 2007 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland with a degree in the Experimental Textile Studio under the tuition of prof. Jolanta Rudzka-Habisiak. Since 2002 she has been a member of the “Wiklina” Polish National Association of Artists. Currently she runs Creative Workshop at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Rzeszów. She organises exhibitions and works as an exhibition curator. She works with weaving, painting and graphics. Since 2002 she has participated in open air painting sessions and open air wicker art sessions. She has created many open air artworks. Her lifework comprises solo exhibitions and several dozen group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Her works can be found in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, Poland, as well as in galleries, community centres and private collections in Poland and abroad.
