Biography:

Anna Michniewicz studied at the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Wrocław, Poland, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland, from 1974-78. She graduated with honours from the Studio of prof. W. Sadley. Anna has participated in many group exhibitions and competitions, including: the 6^th International Textile Triennial in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, Poland, in 1986; all the editions of Polish National Exhibition of Miniature Textile in the scope of the International Textile Triennial in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź; the 4^th Polish National Painting and Unique Textile Biennial in the Museum of the City of Gdynia in 2007; the 3^rd "Struktury Powiązań” International Art Festival in Cracow, Poland in 2010; the “Z krosna do Krosna” International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial in the Museum of Crafts in Krosno, Poland in 2008, 2010 and 2012. She was awarded a distinction at the 1^st Silk Painting Biennial in Milanówek, Poland, in 2014. Anna has also participated in numerous solo exhibitions, including: the “Na Jatkach” Gallery in Wrocław in 2010; the “Pod Plafonem” Gallery in Wrocław in 2011; the “Apteka Sztuki” Gallery in Warsaw in 2012; the “Manufaktura Królewska” manufactory in Warsaw in 2013 and the “Galeria 72” gallery in Chełm, Poland in 2013.
