Biography:

Joanna Lohn-Zając graduated from the Secondary School of Visual Arts in Bulgaria in 1983 and then from the Painting Faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland, with a degree in Unique Textiles under the tuition of prof. Ryszard Kwiecień in 1988. From 1992-1995 she was arranging and organizing exhibitions in the Polish Museum in Chicago, USA. Since 1999 she has participated in the Association of Polish Artists and Designers Experimental Studio projects and since 2006 she has participated in the “Warsztat Twórczy – Kowary” International Symposium in Kowary, Poland. She has held 10 solo exhibitions and participated in 30 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including: the USA, Canada, Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary and Slovakia.

Motto: Tkaniana to materia, z którą człowiek styka się zaraz po urodzeniu i w niej też odchodzi z tego świata. Tkanina nie tylko zdobi, ale przekazuje informacje o poziomie rozwoju cywilizacji, o obyczajach, hierarchii i kulturze
