Born in Izmir Turkey; Education at Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst, Vienna, Austria, 1972 a Master’s degree in Decorative Arts and Textiles PhD, Social Sciences Institute, Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir, Turkey, 1995. Current position: the Lecturer and Head of the Textile Department and Fashion and Accessory Program in Dokuz Eylül University – Faculty of Fine Arts, Izmir. Selected exhibitions: 17^th International Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Fibre Art Pittsburg USA 2001/10. International Tapestry Triennale Lodz 2001, Syposium – International Tekstilkunst Graz 2000 (Austria). Involved in textile design, tapestry, embroidery and accessory design. Participated in numerous workshops, seminars and symposia in Turkey and abroad (San Francisco, Santa-Fe, Graz, Copenhagen).
 

Motto: My fibre is work on concepts or images that are continuous experience enriching my art… Sometimes a form pulled out from the past, sometimes a colour or a design… By reorienting fibre, „craft” and „concept” might end up in surprising result.
