Hanna Wojdała-Markowska was born in 1964 in Radom. She studied at the Faculty of Textiles at The State Higher School of Fine Arts in Łódź. She graduated with honours from Prof. Antoni Starczewski’s Gobelin Tapestry and Carpet Studio and Prof. Wiesław Garboliński’s Painting Studio in 1990. The artist has been working at the Faculty of Art of the Casimir Pulaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom since 1996 and as a professor at the same university since 2007. She works in the field of painting, unique fabrics and her own clothing design. The artist has taken part in over 200 international, national and regional exhibitions. She has organized 34 individual exhibitions and several shows of her own clothing collections. Hanna Wojdała-Markowska received many awards, distinctions and nominations for her work in the field of painting and textiles, including: 2nd National Biennial of Painting and Unique Textiles – Tricity 2003, Gdańsk – Distinction; International Exhibition of Unique Fabrics “Struktury Powiązań”, Cracow – Medal (2007); 2nd Contemporary Polish Art Triennial “Jesienne Konfrontacje”, BWA in Rzeszów – Award (2010); “Z krosna do Krosna” 8th and 10th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial, Museum of Crafts in Krosno – Award (2014), Honourable Mention (2018); 13th National Exhibition of The Polish Tapestry, Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź – Nomination for the Award for the best work (2016); 2nd Biennial of Textile Art, Museum of Applied Arts, Poznań – Distinction (2019); Scholarship (six months) from the budget of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for projects related to the popularisation of culture (2021).
