Doctor Jolanta Wdowczyk (artistic nickname: Jolanta WU) was born in 1962 in Kalisz, Poland. She graduated from the Higher Pedagogical School in Częstochowa, Poland (1986) and completed her postgraduate studies in the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1990). She obtained a doctor of fine arts degree in 1998. Since then, she has worked in the Faculty of Pedagogy and Fine Arts of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Since 2007 she has run the Studio of Graphics Design at the home university in Poznań. She practices broadly defined graphics, drawing, fabric, photography and pastel painting. She deals with interior design, sometimes also designed scenography. She has held 18 solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She participated also in more than 110 group exhibitions. Her awards include: the 42^nd International Exhibition of Fiber Art, Kamienna Góra, Poland – 2^nd A.Sienkiewicz Prize (2016); the ART-EXPO, Hautmont, France – 1^st Prize (2013); the “Z krosna do Krosna” 7^th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial in Krosno, Poland – Grand Prix (2012); and the 6^th International Graphic Annual, Stockholm, Sweden – Diploma of Excellence (2002). Jolanta Wdowczyk was honoured with the President of the City of Kalisz Prize (1995, 2016).
