Dorota Taranek comes from Żyrardów, Poland. She graduated from the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Łódź. She specializes in creating jacquards. Dorota Taranek paints on silk. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including: “Artapestry 5” exhibition in the Art Centre Silkeborg Bad, Silkeborg, Germany (2018); the “WIELKOŚĆ BRZMIEŃ” works of educators at the Institute of Textile Architecture exhibition in Biblio-Art Gallery (2017); the 8^th International Biennial Exhibition of Mini Textile Art “Scythia”, Kherson, Ukraine (2017); the “TEXTURA: A Polish touch” exhibition in London Design Fair 2017, Old Truman Brewery in Londyn, UK (2017); the “ŻAKARDY. Dzieła Sztuki Użytkowej XIX-XXI wieku” exhibition in the Museum of Industrial History in Opatówek, Poland (2017); the 11^th and 13^th Polish National Exhibition of the Unique Textiles in Łódż (2016); the 10^th International Baltic Triennial of Miniature Textiles in the Museum of the City of Gdynia (2016); and the 5^th Riga International Textile and Fibre Art Triennial, Latvian National Museum of Art, Museum of Decorative Arts and Design (2015).
