Magdalena Sołtysik is a visual artist and the Polish Origami Society instructor and a teacher.
She graduated from the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Poznań and from the University of Humanities and Economics in Łódż, specialisation in art-therapy. She works with broadly defined art. When intrigued with the colour, form and light schemes, she paints on canvas, draws, sketches, felts, composes and forms a paper. She combines oil-colour with felted wool or strand at the same art-work, even adding some found objects. A paper and the Japanese art of folding paper are her passions. When it comes to the meaning of art, she appreciates the possibility of combining techniques and “refuting the legend of art” – an artistic joke.
