The Museum of Crafts in Krosno is pleased to present you the official logo of the 9th “Z krosna do Krosna” International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial 2016. Andrzej Pilichowski-Ragno was born in Rome, Italy. He lives and works in Cracow, Poland. He graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Cracow with a degree in Polish Philology. He studied Photography under the tuition of prof. Zbigniew Łagocki. In 1996 he received the Artistic Scholarship of the City of Cracow in the field of photography. From 1992 to 1997 he was an assistant professor at the Chair of Literary Theory at the Jagiellonian University. Academic teacher of photodesign and photography in advertising at the Interior Design School in Cracow and at the Open Course in Photography at the Tadeusz Kościuszko Cracow University of Technology, children’s book illustrator. He is a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers – District of Cracow and of the Association of Polish Artwork Photographers. Andrzej has participated in several dozen group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He has given a dozen or so solo exhibitions. He has been a recipient of awards in illustration, including the 1st Prize at the “Book of the Year” competition organised by the Polish Section of IBBY. You can find his artworks in such magazines as: “Tygodnik Powszechny”, “Konteksty”, “Kraków”, “Res Publica Nowa”, “Film”, “Cinema”, “Charaktery”, “Playboy”, “Elle Deco”, “Zoom International”, “Przekrój”, “Artphoto”, “Pozytyw”, “Nick Magazine”, and “Świerszczyk”.
His artworks feature discovering common, timeless elements of reality, unlimited by geographical references. He devotes his attention primarily to the urban landscape.
