11TH IALCB 2022 - OPENING THE RECRUITMENT
'Z krosna do Krosna' 11th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial, Krosno 2022 – opening the recruitment
After a difficult time of transformations, finding ourselves and adapting the forms of activity to the new, pandemic reality, the Museum of Crafts in Krosno has the pleasure to announce the reactivation of the 'Z krosna do Krosna' 11th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial. Thus, we are opening the recruitment for the 11th edition of the event which will take place in 2022.
We express our hope that despite many difficulties related to the functioning of the world of culture and art in the pandemic, our proposal to participate in an event with an established position and tradition among other competitions in the field of fibre art will strengthen the return to normality, both for the artists and the audience. Participation in the 11th edition of the "Z krosna do Krosna" Biennial may become for some artists an opportunity to express themselves on the marked reality, for others, on the contrary, an impulse to consolidate what has remained of the so-called ‘normality’ of the world. We are convinced that there will be a variety of creative motivations and the works exhibited as part of the biennial will delight with their multithreading or the use of surprising means of artistic expression. As before, we do not limit artists either with the choice of matters or issues or with the techniques used in the creative process. However, there are some changes in the regulations.
A long wait for the possibility of holding the 11th edition of the biennial, which did not take place in 2020, has resulted in new elements in the rules of participation. After a lot of talks and numerous consultations with the fibre art authorities, we have decided to initiate a competition formula to expand the range of creative media to include, apart from linen, textile materials of natural origin (plant or animal). The proportion of natural materials in relation to other materials remains. The works must contain at least 75% of any natural textile materials, however, there must always be a compulsory component of the linen medium. The method of jury assessment and the types of awards have also expanded. Please feel encouraged to study the rules of participation carefully and complete the application form in detail for the 11th edition of the biennial.
The Museum of Crafts in Krosno, as the organizer, is therefore pleased to announce that 'Z krosna do Krosna' 11th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial 2022 and the DEBUTS Competition 2022 accompanying the event, addressed to students and graduates of Polish art academies, are considered open.
