Z krosna do Krosna
INTERNATIONAL ARTISTIC LINEN CLOTH BIENNIAL

Prizewinners of the 9th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial 2016

120 artworks created by 98 artists from 9 countries (Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary) entered the main competition. Additionally, the artwork of prof. Ewa Maria Poradowska-Werszler entered off-competition, with the justification accepted by the Jury. By reason of non-respect of the Rules of the Biennial (point 4) two artworks were disqualified from the competition. Nonetheless, the Jury decided that they could be exhibited together with other artworks within the scope of the travelling exhibition. 9 artworks created by 7 artists entered the "Z krosna do Krosna" – DEBUTS 2016 competition. The Jury was delighted to note that the 9th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial, especially the DEBUTS category, aroused greater interest among young artists than any of the previous editions. What is more, the Jury recognized high artistic value of the whole exhibition and techniques used by the artists being innovative and very interesting.
