Hanna Wojdała-Markowska was born in 1964 in Radom, Poland. She graduated with honours from the Weaving Department of the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Łódź, Poland with a degree in the Prof. Antoni Starczewski Studio of Gobelin Tapestry and Carpet and Prof. Wiesław Garboliński Painting Studio in 1990. She works with painting, unique textiles, drawing and spatial objects. She has participated in over 130 international exhibitions, Polish national exhibitions and environmental exhibitions. She has held 25 solo exhibitions. She is the recipient of 10 Prizes for her painting works, including: a distinction at the 2nd Polish National Painting and Unique Textile Biennial in Gdańsk, Poland, in 2003; a medal at the “Struktury Powiązań” International Exhibition of Unique Textiles in Cracow, Poland, in 2007; and a prize at the ”Jesienne Konfrontacje” 2nd Polish National Contemporary Painting Triennial in the Bureau for Artistic Exhibitions in Rzeszów, Poland, in 2010.
