Biography:

Mahoko Motoda was born in 1958 in Japan. She graduated from Joshibi Junior College of Art and Design. Her solo exhibitions include: the Gallery Maronie in Kyoto, Japan in 1996 and 1999; and the Wacoal Ginza Art Space in Tokyo, Japan in 1999. Mahoko also has participated in group exhibitions such as: the Toyamura International Sculpture Biennale in Hokkaydo, Japan in 2005; the Triennail of Textile Art in Hungary in 2006, 2009 and 2012; the “Z krosna do Krosna” International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial in the Museum of Crafts in Krosno, Poland in 2008, 2010 and 2012; Mahoko’s awards include: the Consolation Prize at the 3rd Floss Silk Visual Art in Tokyo, Japan in 1998; and Prize for Excellence at the Sinsho Fine Art Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan in 2001.
