INTERNATIONAL ARTISTIC LINEN CLOTH BIENNIAL

Prizewinners of the 10th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial 2018

86 artist from 11 countries (Finland, Franc, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Ukraine and Hungary) took part in jubilee edition of "Z krosna do Krosna" International Linen Cloth Biennial. The artists sent 111 pieces of art. The titles and names of the authors may be found in the annexe below.  For an unknown reason, one of the applied artists (Kristine Krastina Indane, Latvia) did not hand over her artwork “Searching for The Roots”). Another one artwork was applied but off the competition, which was accepted by the set of Jury. The Jury drew attention to the high artistic values of the whole exhibition and innovative, interesting formal solutions of expressing  creativity.

At the initiative of the Museum of Crafts in Krosno (the main organizer of the biennial)to commemorate the figure of prof. Irena Huml, and her contribution to the development and promotion of Polish artistic textile, and many years of work as a head of the Jury of the biennial, we decided to establish a separate PROF. IRENA HUML AWARD, which will be given starting from this edition of the biennial. THE PROF. IRENA HUML AWARD will honour artists who pay special attention to the use of innovative solutions in handicraft techniques with emphasizing the linen medium.

"Z krosna do Krosna" – DEBUTS COMPETITION 2018
The integral part of our Biennial is always a DEBUTS COMPETITION. This edition of competition interested 4 young artists, who sent 5 exceptional pieces of linen art. All of them were nominated for the prize. The Jury has chosen to of them, who are honoured with equal awards:
