Biography: Hanna Wojdała-Markowska was born in 1964 in Radom, Poland. She graduated from the Weaving Department of the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Łódź, Poland with an honours degree in the prof. Antoni Starczewski Studio of Gobelin Tapestry and Carpet and prof. Wiesław Garboliński Painting Studio in 1990. Hanna held the Studio of Fashion Design at the Faculty of Materials, Technology and Design at the Kazimierz Pułaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom. She has been a director of the Department of Design at her home university since 2017. She works in painting, textiles, drawing and fashion design. She has participated in over 190 international exhibitions, Polish national exhibitions and environmental exhibitions. She has held 29 solo exhibitions, including distinction at the 2nd Polish National Biennial of Painting and Unique Textile – TriCity in Gdańsk (2003); medal at the “Struktury Powiązań” International Exhibition of Unique Textiles in Cracow, Poland (2007); the prize at the ”Jesienne Konfrontacje” 2nd Polish National Contemporary Painting Triennial in the Bureau for Artistic Exhibitions in Rzeszów, Poland (2010); the prize at the “Z krosna do Krosna” 8th International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial (2014); and nomination for the prize on the 13th Polish National Exhibition of Unique Textile in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź (2016).
